Pregnant woman holding stomach, happy she has found childbirth support for pregnancy and childbirth.

Doula Support for Pregnancy and Birth

Having a BabyMeDoulas birth doula includes the following:

  • Virtual Consultation
  • De-briefing previous births
  • Birth education and preparation
  • Labor support is provided by an agency doula who will be your primary support person throughout pregnancy and birth.
  • Guaranteed back-up doula
  • Spinning Babies Daily Essentials download
  • Unlimited email, phone, and text support to remain readily connected and help you prepare for your baby.
  • Prenatal meetings with your doula and back-up doula will be held during the final trimester to review (or re-review) your birth plan, go over preferences for your big day, and discuss what to expect when labor begins so you are empowered, prepared, relaxed and confident.
  • Once you are in labor, your doula will provide reassurance and encouragement, massage, and other comfort measures and suggest labor positions and alternatives to help ease pain and facilitate smoother, more effective labor.
  • As labor progresses, your doula will help you to know when it is time to go to the hospital or birthing center (unless you have chosen a home birth)
  • If you have chosen a hospital birth, your doula will act as a birth advocate who will be your eyes and ears with hospital personnel and translate medical terms and explain procedures.
  • Suppose you have other support persons involved, such as a partner or other coach. In that case, your doula will work to enhance the support that he, she, or they are intending to provide. Your doula will not try to take the place of partners during birth. Instead, your doula will work with your partners to give you support.
  • Your doula will stay with you and your newborn for a few hours after delivery to provide expert breastfeeding support and will be available to go with you as you go home from the hospital should you need this support.

Pregnancy, labor, and birth are exciting and essential events in a person's life. Continuous, uninterrupted doula support from the onset of labor through birth has been proven to create many positive birth outcomes. Remember, education and empowerment lead to a more fulfilling pregnancy and birth experience. We are here to help and happy to be part of your team

Whether in place of or addition to a partner or loved one, every birthing woman deserves a doula.
