We are very passionate about pregnancy and childbirth and have had this passion for most of our lives.

Childbirth is such an incredible experience and will generate lifelong memories. We are committed to helping you create the most beautiful birth story and will do so by helping you be prepared, not scared, and giving you the tools you need to be as comfortable as possible while bringing this new life into the world.

We were both teen moms and beat the statistics. We both have direct experience with fertility-related issues, adoption, and expanding families in same-sex partnerships—all bringing their own set of complications or difficulties to the miracle of having a baby.

Numerous scientific studies on doula care have demonstrated significantly improved physical and psychological outcomes for both mother and baby. In a recent study on doula support, initiated from the astronomical cesarean rate in Taiwan being 32%-34% (exceeding what the World Health Organization considers reasonable), two groups were studied. After delivery, the doula group exhibited a more significant reduction in anxiety than the control group, and a statistically significant difference was identified in the cesarean rate (13.0% vs. 43.2%) and normal spontaneous delivery rate (87.0% vs. 56.8%) between the doula and control groups.

Research shows that women who use a birth doula are:

• less likely to need Pitocin

• less likely to have a cesarean birth

• less likely to use any pain medication

• more likely to rate their childbirth experience positively
